Project SR96

On Dec. 3, heavy rainfall caused flooding near State Route 96 (Seattle Hill Road) south of Snohomish. The water overwhelmed a culvert beneath the roadway, causing it to collapse and washing out the ground below the road. Before crews began repairs, the hole under SR 96 was 40 feet long, 25 feet deep and stretched from the outer edge of the road to the centerline.
